Once the Data Collection Engine has scanned the infrastructure and collected the necessary configuration data, the RecoverGuard Gap Detection Engine performs a comprehensive dependency analysis and build a detailed IT infrastructure topology map.

This map, which can be easily viewed and browsed, documents relationships between elements within the datacenters. It includes, for example, the analysis of dependencies between applications/databases and file systems, dependencies between these file systems and storage array volumes, what other servers are accessing these storage volumes, how these storage volumes are being replicated and how the replicas are utilized by DR servers.

The RecoverGuard Gap Detection Engine contains a gap signature knowledgebase of thousands of potential data protection, availability and disaster recovery readiness vulnerabilities. The engine automatically searches through the knowledgebase to detect potential gaps and best practice violations in your production, high availability or DR configuration. It even suggest mitigation approaches.
