Automatically Collecting Key Configuration Information

The RecoverGuard Data Collection Engine is a low footprint technology that collects vital information used to detect hidden configuration errors and gaps. This engine automatically and non-intrusively scans the production and replication infrastructures to gather configuration data from key IT assets.

Using standard vendor protocols and APIs, the data collection engine can automatically collects information about your IT infrastructure from: 

• Storage management frameworks  (Including EMC SymCLI, EMC StorageScope, Hitachi HiCommand and NetApp ONTAP)
• Servers (including Windows, HP-UX, SunSolaris, AIX and Linux)
• Databases (Oracle, MS-SQL, Sybase, IBM UDB and more) 

The discovery and scanning process can be configured to perform periodic rescans of the IT infrastructure to detect any potential configuration gaps immediately when they occur, so they can be resolved before impacting the production data protection and availability. This allows the RecoverGuard technology to detect and assess changes over time and allow for ongoing data protection, availability and disaster recovery readiness monitoring.
